It was my son's last soccer game of this season this past weekend and I wanted to make his coach a card to say thank you. (Those coaches sure put up with a lot, don't they?)
I found THIS really cute card from Joanne James a while back and loved the idea so I pinned it on Pinterest. Pinterest has become my online filing cabinet and has made it so easy to go back and find all those cute ideas I'm just not ready to make right this second but want to file away for a later date. Years ago I used to print out all the ideas, or try to bookmark them or save them all on my computer, never to see them again. Think of all the amazing stuff I could have made over the years, right?
This card ended up being much simpler than I originally figured it would be. Basically you punch out several black and white hexagons, glue them onto the Gumball Green cardstock, and then cut out the ball shape with the largest plain circle framelit. The ball is then attached to the card part, which is another piece of Gumball Green cardstock that's been folded and cut using the large scallop framelit from the same circle framelit set, with the fold line just inside of the edge so the pieces are left attached. (Mine could have been a little tucked inside just a wee bit more so my folded edge was a little larger.)
Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
Here are some of the items you'll need to recreate this card:
